"Getting Started" Workshop Tour of Communities

Workshop participants love this tour of four completed cohousing communities along the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The private tour gives you a chance to visit and ask questions of elder cohousing residents about life as a retiree in multi-generational cohousing. We offer this experience to give you a real view of cohousing before you learn the nuts and bolts of creating these kinds of environmentally and socially conscious neighborhoods. Time is alloted at each community to meet with current senior residents and the project architect (when available), as well as to tour the site, Common House and private homes.

We will travel via bus and a healthy lunch (chicken or vegetarian), snacks and bottled water will be provided. This experience is one of the highlights of the weekend.

Cohousing projects we will visit include: Harmony Village in Golden; Nomad Cohousing in Boulder; and Wild Sage Village in Boulder. This tour will also include an introduction to Silver Sage Village for pro-active adults now under construction directly across the street from the multi-generational Wild Sage community.
