Emerging Elder Cohousing Communities

This list represents the Elder Cohousing communities currently under development. Some are in the design and constructon phase while others are still in the discussion and early planning phase.

If you would like your Elder Cohousing project listed on this page, please contact us.

Elder Cohousing in North Texas - A growing group of Texas residents are meeting regularly as they plan their 20-25 household cohousing community for active adults in the South Dallas area. The group is being led by Community Facilitator Janet Martinique as part of an educational initiative sponsored by the North Texas Association of Unitarian Universalist Societies (NTAUUS). The group is currently evaluating possible sites for their project and meets on the first Saturday and Third Sunday of the month for alternating social events and community meetings at the UU Church of Oak Cliff, TX. Please email for more information.
Elder Family in the Smoky Mountains - Whittier, NC (near Cherokee and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park) is looking for more family members to share ownership in an expanding project of group homes with private and shared space. The site consists of 8 acres of land within a larger 80 acre community, including 7 acres of common land and group facilities.
ElderGrace - Santa Fe, NM - This community has aquired a 3.5 acre property which will be developed by the Santa Fe Community Housing Trust. They are a Jubilados-inspired conscious-aging elder cohousing development whose members dedicate themselves to spiritual growth, mutual support, respect for the environment and service to others. You may email for more information.
