After spending his first 25 years in Los Angeles, Zev experienced first hand the challenges of life in the big city. Since settling in Colorado in 1985, Zev has become one of the country's most experienced cohousing professionals. Over the past 18 years, he has served as a nationally recognized consultant to sustainable developments in CA, CO, MA, NC, TX, UT, etc. He is known for his expertise in the areas of Environmental Planning, Renewable Energy and Transportation, and Neighborhood Community Building.
Zev has been interviewed by many of the country's leading national print and broadcast media including The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, NBC "Dateline," and CNN among others. He has traveled across the United States giving presentations at National and State conferences and is a popular speaker on the topics of Sustainable Development, Aging in Community and How to Create a Positive Future. He produced two videos - "Neighborhoods for People" in 1995, and "Developing Sustainable Neighborhoods for Today's Housing Market" in 2008. He is the author of a screen play ripe for a producer - "The Journey Home" - a futuristic vision of a sustainable society set within a mystery thriller. Zev recently created the One Million Gardens website to register 1 million gardens in the U.S. in 2009.
