Renewable Energy

By shifting to renewable sources of energy, the U.S, can create millions of new well-paying jobs while simultaneously decreasing our dependence on the use of limited fossil fuels. An exciting array of solutions have entered the market including energy production from wind, thin-film photovoltaic, wave and tidal energy, biomass, and low-head hydro. Producing “oil” from fast-growing algae is another promising possibility.

Fifty years ago, the world was consuming 4 billion barrels of oil per year and the average discovery was around 30 billion. Today we consume 30 billion barrels per year and the discovery rate is approaching 4 billion barrels of crude per year.”
